The 2022 VW T-Roc Design 1.0 TSI is a compact crossover SUV offering a solid balance of style, practicality and efficiency in the Irish market. Under the bonnet, it uses a 1.0-litre turbocharged three ... -cylinder petrol engine producing about 110 hp, paired with a six-speed manual gearbox driving the front wheels. Visually and in terms of presence, the Design trim gives the T-Roc a refined and well-appointed feel without going into the more sporty extras of R-Line. While the exterior styling is updated (the 2022 version received some mild facelift tweaks revised grille, bumper styling, lighting with darker finishes, a slim LED light strip across the grille) the Design trim tends to focus on subtle elegance rather than aggressive sportiness.

Inside, the cabin is spacious for its class with room for five occupants. The boot offers approximately 445 litres with the rear seats up, expanding to about 1,290 litres when theyre folded down.

The interior of the facelifted 2022 model features some material upgrades, a more prominent infotainment display that sits raised on the dashboard, improved finishings, and a new touch-sensitive panel for the heating/air-conditioning controls.

On the safety and technology front, the T-Roc Design comes with a decent suite of standard equipment things like Front Assist (collision warning emergency braking), lane-keeping assist, daytime running lights, multiple airbags, ISOFIX points in the rear seats, and decent driver-aids.

In terms of dimensions, the 2022 T-Roc is about 4.23-4.24 m in length, roughly 1.82 m in width (excluding mirrors), and around 1.58 m in height. Exterior width including mirrors is close to 2.00 m in some listings.
