It is powere ... d by a 5.0-litre M28/41 V8 engine, producing around 320hp and sending it to the rear wheels via the desirable and lesser-seen rare five-speed manual transmission.
Introduced for the 1987 model year, the S4 was a significant step up from the S2, increasing the V8s displacement from 4.7 to 5.0-litres, and adding a 32-valve DOHC cylinder head design. Braking was via uprated Brembo front discs and four-piston callipers, while the multi-link Weissach rear axle kept handling in check.
